Your consultation area does not have to be something elaborate, but even just a specific section of the counter that is concealed by walls and a door can offer a more private setting for your customers to get and give information.  

Create an area for centrally-located seating. 

Keeping the seating area for your pharmacy customers at a central point in your establishment does a few things:

  • the customers have a clear view of the dispensary and the staff

Pharmaceuticals may be a sect of the medical industry, but this does not mean that the pharmacy itself has to be designed just like a doctor's office or hospital setting. In fact, your customers probably prefer to be in a more welcoming setting, which is easy to achieve with careful planning of the design details. For example, you could install laminate flooring instead of ceramic tile or use warm color tones that are far from the usual whites, greys, and blues overused in other medical settings.
